Information to follow soon.
Ewa Noska
Ewa has worked as a dental nurse since 2014 and started with us at SDP at the beginning of the year. She loves working in a medical environment and is a very calming presence for our patients. Her nursing skills and experience cover the breadth of our specialisms as a well as general dentistry.
When not at work, Ewa prefers to be travelling, reading and rock climbing, as well as practising yoga.
Myles Dakin
Myles is our clinical lead and a director of Specialist Dental Partners. He qualified at Guy’s Hospital in 1989 and in 1993 passed the primary fellowship examination at the Royal College of Surgeons. After an early career in maxillo-facial trauma surgery, Myles completed post-graduate training at the prestigious University of Texas, where he taught undergraduates and earned a Masters’ degree in biological sciences and certificate in advanced prosthodontics. During this time, he was granted a Membership in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons and was admitted to the Specialist Register (UK) as a Prosthodontist. On returning to the UK, Myles entered private practice, first in Harley Street and Wimpole Street before taking on a local practice in Royston and building SDP as it is today.
Outside of dentistry, Myles works on his pharmaceutical development company which now has a late-stage product for serious burns, as well as a full pipeline for other indications. He lives with his partner (the ‘other’ Hatty), as well as two cats (Dougal and Scout) and – when they visit – his three adult children. He is also much enthused by cars (especially Alfas), motorbikes and his beloved e-bike, loves food, is surprisingly good at yoga and is interested in almost everything.
Bridget Geraghty
Bridget has spent her whole professional career as a dental nurse with SDP. She knows the clinic inside-out. For her, the best thing about the job is working with the public; each person has a different story. She loves to chat, so this is the perfect job! Bridget also really enjoys supporting full mouth rebuilds and finds it incredibly satisfying to see the end result: the total transformation of a person’s appearance and confidence.
With her relaxed, friendly nature, Bridget is amazing at calming nervous patients and helping them to feel more at ease in the dentist chair. Away from the clinic, she is kept more than busy by her young son and her wider circle of family and friends.
Fran Veldhuizen
Fran is a GDC registered Specialist Prosthodontist with over 25 years’ experience in dentistry. Her clinical practice incorporates all aspects of general as well as prosthodontic dentistry, the dental specialty of restoring natural teeth and replacing missing teeth. She strives to deliver beautiful, bespoke care that is based on understanding her patients’ needs.
Having started university life studying anthropology and psychology at St Andrews, Fran went on to graduate in dentistry from Dundee in 1996. She spent time working in general dentistry and then hospital where she gained experience in both oral surgery and restorative dentistry. Fran obtained her Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) with the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and began her specialist training. She completed her Masters in Clinical Dentistry (MClinDent) in 2006 and her Membership in Restorative Dentistry (MRD) with the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2008. She has been working as a Specialist Prosthodontist since 2009.
Fran is actively involved with the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh as an examiner for the MFDS and MPros examinations. She is a member of the British Society of Prosthodontics (BSSPD) and International Team for Implantology (ITI). Fran’s Masters degree was completed in the field of tooth-wear which continues to be an area of interest and she also maintains a lifelong passion for art as a hoppy and especially enjoys applying these skills to the aesthetic aspects of her work.
Having spent 30 years living in Scotland, she moved to Cambridge last year with her husband, youngest daughter and Doddie, the family dog. While her two older children provide a wonderful excuse to visit north of the border, she is settled now in Cambridge where she enjoys the (warmer) outdoors and her art.
Olaf Neumann
Olaf specialises in Endodontics (root canal treatments) and is also an excellent general dentist. After qualifying in 1992 from the University of Leipzig in Germany, he managed his own general dental practice for 20 years, providing a comprehensive range of treatments including endodontics and advanced restorative dentistry.

When not in clinic, Olaf is a enthusiastic on-road and off-road motorcyclist, and with his wife, Anett, travels extensively in the UK and Europe. He is fluent in English and German.
Kevin Esplin

He has been a specialist dental practitioner for over 35 years in Cambridge . He is a registered Specialist in Prosthodontics and has been placing dental implants since 1989.
Kevin has lectured worldwide recent times on all aspects of implantology and dental rehabilitation and has taught and mentored in dental implantology for younger dentists for the the past 15 years. In his spare time he has a keen interest in all aspects of sport but his main pastime is cycling and he is now developing his skills in watercolours.
Alice Thorp
Alice joined SDP in 2005, choosing a career in dental nursing for the contact with people it brings, the daily challenges and the new and fascinating things to learn.
She especially enjoys working with children, helping and teaching them to clean their teeth and making sure they feel less scared about coming to the dentist. She’s highly organised and an excellent multi-tasker, bringing energy, expertise, a lot of laughter and fun to her work.
Hatty Tinsley
Hattie joined SDP as part of the nursing team and to manage compliance. She brings loads of laughter and energy, and was even born within a stone’s throw of the clinic (although now lives in Suffolk).
With both NHS and private practice experience, Hattie has seen it and done it, and nothing much phases her. In her former career, she was a qualified veterinary nurse, so has seen and done even more!
When not at work, Hattie is a real book worm and likes nothing better than to curl up with a long read. She loves travel, and she and her husband are regular visitors to the South of France where her father now lives. She is also an expert maker of all kinds of salad dressing.
Fiona Remnant
Fiona is our dental Therapist. She is a member of the British Association of Dental Therapists and the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy. Fiona wanted to work hands on with people in health care and chose dentistry over 20 years ago. She was particularly drawn to Dental Therapy as it provides the perfect mix of interesting and challenging work.
Fiona is versatile, having also qualified as a hygienist, and can perform a range of fillings and extractions. She is a calm, relaxed person and has a natural way of making sure patients feel the same.
Fiona gets immense satisfaction in helping adults and children overcome dental anxiety and educating people on the importance of oral health, especially in relation to their overall health and wellbeing. In her spare time, Fiona loves running, reading, travelling, music, theatre and learning – she enjoys continuing professional development and frequently attends courses and refreshers so that she can deliver the highest standard of up-to-date care.
She is married with three boys and one cat – much to the disappointment of her children who desperately want a dog!
Nancy Bentley
Nancy began her dental career after gaining her Foundation Degree in Dental Nursing; progressing on to graduating from the University of Sheffield as a Dental Hygienist and Dental Therapist. Nancy has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Periodontics, so she can provide more advanced periodontal services with a holistic approach.
Nancy has a special interest in the link between diabetes and periodontal disease, and is consistently attending courses and study days to further her career. Nancy is consistently learning and developing as her career progresses. Nancy wants to make sure that all patients are comfortable, well-informed and happy with their treatment at Specialist Dental Partners.
In her spare time, Nancy enjoys the outdoors, music and spending time with her family and friends.
Lesley Geraghty
Lesley is SDP’s receptionist, on hand to manage appointments, greet patients and keep the office running smoothly. She has worked as part of the SDP team for over twenty years, and before taking on Reception, she was a qualified dental nurse so understands all aspects of clinic life.
Lesley lives nearby in Royston and is married to James. Her daughter, Bridget, is also a long-standing member of the SDP team.
